Jason Gabriel Wheeler is a professional chef and food service manager. He began his cooking career in 1984 while attending High School, near Fisherman’s Wharf. He graduated with a Master’s of Fine Arts from the California Culinary Academy in 1994. Spending the bulk of his career in San Francisco’s fine dining restaurants, he also spent time cooking professionally in Paris, France; Burlington, Vermont; and New York City.
Jason began consulting for Delphi Health Group in 2015, where he designed and oversaw the build-out of our new state-of-the-art kitchen at Arete. He then accepted a full-time position as executive chef and director of food and beverage. Using a ‘modern comfort food’ approach to the menu, Jason is a stickler for scratch cooking. He employs seasonality, changing the menu daily and using local organic produce, meats, seafood, and dairy wherever possible.
Chef Jason lives with his wife, his scuba gear, and his golf clubs in Hollywood Beach, Florida.
