Brad Cohen has an undergraduate degree in psychology and social sciences with a minor in education. He received a master’s degree in social work with a concentration in both clinical and administration from Florida International University.
He has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, providing individual, group, and family therapy in a variety of settings for over 20 years. These settings have included inpatient hospitals, detoxification centers, outpatient facilities, private practice, in-school and in-home settings, as well as other community facilities. He has worked in the capacities of behavioral health technician, primary therapist, program director, and clinical director.
The issues that he has dealt with throughout these positions include parent-child relationship issues, behavioral issues to mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders/dual-diagnosis. He is currently a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with the substance abuse professional certificate (SAP), a master-certified addiction professional (MCAP), and an internationally-certified alcohol and drug counselor (ICADC).
In his former role as vice president of business development for a neurological rehabilitation technology company, Brad has had to perform many functions in the areas of operations, customer service, marketing, and sales management. He has attained numerous achievements and acquired many crucial skills throughout his ten years of involvement.
We at Delphi Behavioral Health Group are pleased to have Brad as the executive director of Arete Recovery with putting his experience and knowledge into action.
Shannon Nuñez is the clinical director at Arete Recovery. She previously worked as the clinical director and a primary therapist at Pathway to Hope, another Delphi facility, which has provided her with an abundance of knowledge from different Delphi programs. Shannon began her substance use career working in the non-profit sector, where she became enthusiastic about working with low-income individuals needing help with addiction, mental health, and reuniting their families.
Shannon’s educational background includes an M.A. in counseling psychology from Trinity University and she also holds a B.A. in psychology from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Shannon has spent the last eleven years focusing solely on clients with addiction and mental health issues. She is excited to continue working with clients to ensure they receive the best treatment and education possible on their journey of recovery.
Dr. Antonio De Filippo is triple board certified in psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, and addiction medicine and is a leading mental health authority in South Florida.
Dr. De Filippo’s extensive experience includes senior executive positions at many local Institutions including Spectrum Programs, Archways Community Mental Health Center, Susan B. Anthony Community Mental Health Center, Miami Behavioral Health, and the Broward County Health Planning Council. Dr. De Filippo is currently the CEO of South Florida Psychiatric Services. He is also a speaker for several major pharmaceutical corporations and is frequently requested as a consultant and trainer for national medical advisory meetings.
Judith Strouse is the director of nursing with over 13 years experience in the substance abuse/psychiatric medicine field. She has been a registered nurse for the past 17 years, graduating from the St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in 2001. Judith obtained her bachelor of science degree in healthcare administration in 2015 from Columbia Southern University. Working with this population has always been a passion for Judith. Originally from Bethlehem, PA, she resides in Sunrise, FL and enjoys spending her free time with her daughter and grandson.

Jason Gabriel Wheeler is a professional chef and food service manager. He began his cooking career in 1984 while attending High School, near Fisherman’s Wharf. He graduated with a Master’s of Fine Arts from the California Culinary Academy in 1994. Spending the bulk of his career in San Francisco’s fine dining restaurants, he also spent time cooking professionally in Paris, France; Burlington, Vermont; and New York City.
Jason began consulting for Delphi Health Group in 2015, where he designed and oversaw the build-out of our new state-of-the-art kitchen at Arete. He then accepted a full-time position as executive chef and director of food and beverage. Using a ‘modern comfort food’ approach to the menu, Jason is a stickler for scratch cooking. He employs seasonality, changing the menu daily and using local organic produce, meats, seafood, and dairy wherever possible.
Chef Jason lives with his wife, his scuba gear, and his golf clubs in Hollywood Beach, Florida.
